Virtual Private Networking

Technology Services provides a complete set of documentation to walk you through installing VPN on a personally-owned device, including for Windows, Apple, Android, and iOS devices. If you are using a University-owned laptop, it should already have VPN on it.

When you connect to VPN, you should use the Split Tunnel option rather than the TunnelAll option. The purpose of Split Tunnel is to transmit and receive data intended for the campus networks through the VPN connection while other data goes through your normal Internet connection. If you choose the TunnelAll option, you will unnecessarily be routing data through the campus, and that will make your connection seem slow and create extra load on campus resources.
